Drappier Champagne House
An authentic champagne...

> The history of the Drappier vineyard goes back to the 12th century when St. Bernard, founder of the Clairvaux Abbey, built a Cistercian cellar in 1152, now owned by the Drappier family. Here, the house’s prized wines and special bottles are slowly aged.

> Served on the finest tables in the world, Champagne Drappier has attracted such prestigious personalities as General De Gaulle and Luciano Pavarotti.

> Come and discover the mysterious process of Champagne creation as well as the blending secrets. Taste an authentic Champagne whose fruit character is a true expression of the Pinot Noir variety, which reigns supreme in the Côte des Bar.

The House offers a visit followed by a tasting of its Champagnes
Millésime Exception 2005

This exceptional cuvee, a harmonious marriage of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, expresses both freshness and maturity. Its colour is golden yellow and the nose expresses notes of white fruit, ripe citrus, vanilla and mint. The palate is full of fruit with hints of biscuit. This wine is complex with a pleasant finish. It is ideal with monkfish, lobster or grilled lamb
